Father Floren presides at Svartrau Cathedral, and is shown performing a blood baptism in the walkthrough's cutscene.
He conducts the blood mass personally. Every week, in some of the valley's churches, the congregation gathers and each villager gives a significant quantity of blood; in exchange they are cured of illness.
The blood mass was instituted by Brencis and his circle after they took the valley. It is the instrument through which the regime controls the population — the same bargain that healed Coen's sister.
He recognises Coen on sight and presses him to take confession. Coen can decline without a fight, and Floren lets it go while making it clear the conversation is not finished.
He is above the cathedral's deacon in the hierarchy — the deacon reports to him.
