Effect

Official material states that Coen's magical runes are scarred into his body and act as the conduit for his magic, which is why hexes are available to him as a human rather than only in vampire form. Bulletin Board #11 states the other half of that: Witchcraft is a **daytime** tree. The runes are human Coen's, and the hexes go with them at sunset.
