What is confirmed

He leads the Manumit, the rebellion against Brencis, and recruits Coen into it.
The first meeting reportedly ends with Coen tied to a tree. Getting in with the organisation properly comes after raising Infamy — which makes him the only character anyone has named whose route is gated on the Infamy track.
He is one of three characters Coen can romance, and his romance scene happens during A Closer Look — the same quest an independent endings guide lists as an optional step in his chain, awarding the trophy The Manumit.
Romancing him is not required for him to stay allied.
He is described as sarcastic, overworked and cagey about a strained relationship with his father.
His chain runs The Firebrand → Shadows in the Woods → Where Loyalty Lies → What Hunts the Night → What Moves the Dead → Who Pulls the Strings → Distant Shadows (optional) → A Closer Look (optional) → Rise at Dawn → Fall Before Dusk. Ten quests, eight of them required.
It starts at the military camp in the Briar Sloughs, with The Firebrand.
The first three quests are also the route to being invited into the Manumit hideout, which The Turncoat needs.
Speaking to him at the objective in Rise at Dawn starts the ending; Fall Before Dusk is the ending quest itself.
Completing the optional A Closer Look awards a trophy named The Manumit.

What is not

Listed rather than guessed. These promote out only against the retail build.

What the Manumit are beyond a rebellion, and what they want after Brencis.
Whether he is human, vampire or something else.
Whether he can die, and whether that removes The Knyazmaker permanently.
The time cost of any quest in his chain — for a ten-quest commitment, none is published.
How much Infamy his route actually needs, which matters because Infamy cannot be lowered.
Whether Crake or Marat is the name the game uses in dialogue rather than in its trophy list.

Known risks

Brencis offers the same betrayal on his path, worded as coming to an agreement. Taking it abandons his ending.
An ending is routed through him, so the usual rule applies with unusual weight.

Three retail sources, and they do not agree on his name: two call him Crake — one of them quoting a trophy string — and one calls him Marat throughout. They are the same person, because that guide puts his romance scene in a quest the endings guide independently places inside Crake's chain.
