Time & the deadline
Does Exploration Use Time?
Short answer
No. Exploration and combat do not automatically advance narrative time. Only specific flagged actions spend units.
This is the most useful thing you can know on your first day. Searching a village with Focus, clearing a cave, mapping a region, finding a merchant, reading everything — none of it is charged to your thirty days.
The practical rule
The corollary is that the world is genuinely worth exploring rather than something to be rushed. The developers have emphasised hand-crafted exploration, and the time system is built so that curiosity is not punished.
The exception to watch for
Exploration is free. The action you take at the end of it may not be. If a conversation, an intervention or an investigation step is flagged as costing time, it costs time — regardless of how you arrived at it.
